Laura Nolan answered on 1 Feb 2019:
I think it’s actually really fun! In my job I get to pretty much plan what I want to do in the lab, and when I want to do it, in terms of the experiments I choose to answer the scientific questions I have. I find that this requires a lot of creativity to be really innovative and to try and think about things perhaps in way that others haven’t thought about it yet, which I find really enjoyable. I also get to work with some really great people both here in the UK and overseas, and also go to meetings and conferences all around the world (and usually try and tack on a little holiday in that cool part of the world, if possible!) which is definitely fun!
