I haven’t done any proper IQ tests so I have no idea! I think the idea that people in science need to have higher than average IQs is a bit of a myth. A certain level of intelligence can certainly help in science, but I think to do science somethings that help maybe more than having a high IQ are to have an inquiring mind, never be afraid to ask a question (even if you think it might be ‘dumb’ or obvious), be able to persevere through challenges, be able to work well with other people and be able to see how your ideas/data might fit into someone else’s work/to something completely left of center from what you’re researching!
I’ve never done a proper IQ test either, but am guessing I don’t have higher than average IQ. I work hard and I’ve got a lot common sense, which is quite useful at times.
