      Palaeontologist, every time.

I’m not really a palaeontologist now, more of a general zoologist but I do look after a lot of fossils along with all the other specimens in the Grant Museum. Sometimes I write blogs about fossil specimens so I can still pretend!

When I was a kid (up til maybe 8 years old) I really wanted to go to the olympics as a gymnast! Looking back I wasn’t anywhere near as good as I thought I was, and I got way too tall for this to be a feasible goal…. I then liked art and music so went through phases of wanting to be a graphic designer, then an singer, and then around 15 years old I realised that I actually really like science and could do a job in that 🙂

Many things, at different times – a ballerina, a hairdresser, a vet, a surgeon – until I finally settled on biology researcher, and I stuck with that since! But you don’t have to have a good idea of what you want to do as a kid, so take the time to study and figure out what really interests you and pursue that!

I had no idea. Didn’t realize how much I wanted to be a Scientist until university – some times these things don’t come quickly!

I wanted to be a Doctor until I was 16, then it was unambiguously Archaeologist.
